What's happening at the Old Whitgiftian Rugby Club, South Croydon.
Firstly, a BIG welcome to all of our new members who have joined the club over the summer months and during the start of this season. It's great to have you on board.
We are keen to grow our rugby playing membership, so bring your mates down to join in the fun!
Training is on Tuesday evenings at 19:30 and is key to our preparation for this coming season. We had a great season last year and we cannot be complacent this year. The preparation needs to be done for it to be successful and enjoyable.

Highlights from last season...
We won the SHIELD FINAL against Cranleigh on Sunday 29th April 2007
The 1st XV finished the league at top position with a narrow 18-17 win against old Rutlishians on 14th April - CHAMPIONS!!!
The Wanderers (2nd XV) played in the Surrey Merit Conference Cup Final beating Weybridge Vandals 15-7 on 14th April - a GREAT result for a hard fought season under the captaincy of Ed Layet and Ed Airey, with great support from Nigel Bowthorpe.
Players, supporters and sponsors joined the evenings celebrations at the End of Season Dinner.

Rugby training is in full swing for the season 2006/2007 at Croham Road, South Croydon. Sessions are currently on Tuesday and Thursday (check with your captain for Thursday) evenings at 19:30. Please contact 1st XV Captain, James Schad for details. The training sessions are enjoyable, increasing your fitness and skills and preparing you for your game on Saturday. All players are welcome - especially new players no matter what standard - come and play rugby at fantastic grounds in South Croydon. Training is crucial to a successful season!
Recruitment bonuses
Recruitment bonuses are due to be paid. Claim forms are available in the rugby pigeonhole at the Clubhouse or click here. Do you know someone interested in playing Rugby at our fantastic South Croydon ground? Get them involved in our club and make some money! Rugby recruitment can happen all year round, so even over the summer break snap up opportunities of introducing potential players to our club.
Rugby Subscriptions
Subscriptions are still outstanding from a number of players - please rectify this as per Ian's email. Student subscription will be paid for by the club. Match subscriptions partly cover the costs of teas for the home side and visitors plus the laundry of the shirts. Annual subscriptions contribute towards the maintenance of the grounds and the clubhouse plus your OWA membership. Should you have any questions regarding your subscription please speak to your team captain.
